| About the Trail The Waverley Trail runs about three-quarters of a mile, principally along Trapelo Road, from the recently renovated Waverley Village School (now the Engine 1 condominiums) in Belmont to the Beaver Brook Reservation that straddles the town line between Belmont and Waltham. The project is the result of the initiative and generosity of private citizens and local business and non-profit sponsors, working in conjunction with the Belmont Land Trust, the Waltham Land Trust, local governments and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, to realize their vision for the trail. Complete with interpretive kiosks, wall plaques, signposts and banners, the trail highlights the Waverley neighborhood’s cultural, commercial, transportation and natural history. Perhaps most importantly, the Trail reminds the children of Waverley that they live in a place of remarkable cultural and natural interest, which they can help to care for over many decades to come.
